Apigenin

What Huberman said
Huberman says he takes apigenin and lists 50 mg in his sleep stack, 30 to 60 minutes before bed. He calls it a derivative of chamomile that supports sleepiness and acts as a bit of an anxiety-lowering compound before sleep.
Doses, as he worded them
“50mg Apigenin”[1]
30-60 min before bed
Quoted, not prescribed. Talk to a doctor or pharmacist first if you take medication, are pregnant or have a health condition.
Cautions he mentions
- Apigenin is a fairly potent estrogen inhibitor; women who want to keep their estrogen levels where they are should probably avoid it, and men should take that into consideration too.[5]
Safety notes from independent sources
- A 2017 review said more research on how apigenin is absorbed and how it interacts with drugs was needed before clinical trials. Wang et al. 2017, Expert Opin Drug Metab Toxicol
