Tongkat Ali
Also called Eurycoma longifolia, Longjack
What Huberman said
Huberman says he takes 400 mg of tongkat ali a day, early in the day, has taken it for years without cycling, and that his blood work shows a subtle but consistent increase in free testosterone. He says it is known to increase free testosterone by reducing sex hormone binding globulin, can increase libido, and can be beneficial for both men and women.
Doses, as he worded them
“400 milligrams of tongkat ali per day”[1]

“anywhere from 200 milligrams to 600 milligrams per day”[2]
range he describes; start with the minimum effective dose
“anywhere from 400 to 800 milligrams a day”[3]

Cautions he mentions
- Can cause excessive alertness and insomnia if taken too late in the day.[3]
- He takes it early in the day because it has a bit of a stimulant effect.[1]
- Start with the minimum amount and find the minimal effective dose for you.[2]
- Blood work should perhaps be done eight to 12 weeks after starting it.[2]
- Do your blood work, monitor liver enzymes and hormone levels, and check with your physician.[4]
- He says that, to his knowledge, it does not need to be cycled.[2]
